Title: Eternal love

by Bridie from Derbyshire | in writing, fiction

Two hundred years ago lived a family called Ellingsworth; they were a quiet family and always kept the peace in the area. They had a son called William who was the sweetest child you could ever wish to have known. They lived in the biggest house in the area and all the windows filled with colours and patterns that the eye could ever wish to see.
Then one night in the house they had a ball in celebration of their son William getting married to his childhood sweetheart. Elizabeth and her whole self could only be described as an image of perfection. The night was planned to be one that no one would ever forget, but for other reasons then first was intended. It all went wrong when the couple went for a walk of the garden. Hours passed and still neither retuned so their families went to look for them, they found them hand in hand upon the floor and all one could see were two small punctures in their necks. They were buried the next day in the Ellingsworth garden. His family moved out of the house there after this event.
Now many people read this and assume it to be written by a close friend or family member, but it is not, but by someone you would say impossible, but I know to be far from it. Did you ever wonder about the cause of their of death - two punctures in their necks? Could this make it possible a vampire was to blame? Are they real other than in books? Well you find another explanation to how William Ellingsworth has just told you of his mortal death.
By the way, welcome to my story of a love lost and found, oh my name now, Sin Love.
I live solitary now in this ancient house the walls falling around me and no one to stop them. The windows replicate the shape of the two grave stones that stand in my garden for me and my darling Elizabeth. The prints upon them seem to reflect the painful scriptures of my broken heart. Once again as the sun grows weary and the night awakens I ready myself to find a lost lonely soul a reflection of my own to feed upon, but upon this night I was disturbed in my sermonise by an unwelcome knock upon my door. Down I ran, down the staircase to open the door to find an enchanting young woman upon my door step. In her mid twenties, glistening from the downfall of rain. She was terribly nervous you could hear from the way she spoke and the tremble in her voice, yet she asked ever so sweetly if there was any place in my heart to allow her to stay for the night or at least until the rain subsides. As she queried this she never removed the focus of her glistening eyes from the cold stone pavement. Before I got a chance to reply to her she slowly raised the focus of her eyes and asked me again. As our focus met I melted within. She must have noticed a change in me for she returned her focus back to the cold pavement. I invited her into my home for as long as she required.
As she entered my home her eyes wandering seemed to show familiarity with her new surroundings. But also they showed a glimpse of happiness and relief to be here. Whilst acknowledging this I realised I had not yet asked if she required any food or drink and so asked her to join me for dinner later that evening. She accepted gratefully but insisted that I only did it if it was not to cause any problems to me.
At this I showed her to a room, but she seemed to almost have shown herself, and I told her to be ready for eight thirty for dinner. There was a certain familiarity about her that both enlightened me yet disturbed me.
As I stood in the kitchen I transferred myself in to a delightful daydream of a time before this creature became me. A time when me and my dearest Elizabeth were deeply in love. My dearest in my eyes was the most beautiful and upmost object of perfections I could wish to have married and yet this strange girl that arrived upon my door emitted to much similar feelings as did my dear Elizabeth but she never awoke from the Vampires sting.
I was awoken by the footsteps of the sweet girl coming down the stairs. I left my cooking to attend to her I showed her into the dining room and once again she seemed to know were she was going, I showed her to a seat and poured a drink for her and left her to retrieve the meal. When I returned to the room with our meals she looked around the room as if she missed the sight. Yet the walls were covered in centuries of dirt and dust where which they were once violet with rose thorns riding up the wall, they were still faintly visible under the life of un-love.
As we sat and ate there was little conversion between us, this was ever so daunting to me after living solitary so many years I had to break this infernal silence between us. I asked her what her name was and if it reflected her beauty, she blushed a little upon her near white skin and gave an answer of Elizabeth, I must have showed the misbelieve in my face for she looked worried. I smiled weakly at her and explained that I once loved a girl of that name, yet before the chance to marry came across she died. She apologised for my loss and explained a similar story of her own, yet she was never sure of what happened to her love and that she woke in a strange place and never saw him again.
We moved on into the library where I wished to read but did not want to be seen as a poor host to my delightful guest. So for this I offered to read to her and she gratefully accepted and looked pleased that I offered. I sat for a considerable time reading aloud to her, this brought much joy for me as this was how I and my darling once were. Finally I came to a halt and she looked ever so pleased to be here. Pleased to be in such a disposition. I noticed the night was late and that dawn was not to be held far a way, and so recommended that we retired to sleep. At this I also informed her I would not be here in the morning due to business but she was welcome to stay. At this she went to leave but no sooner had she left, she ran back in and lunged at me, wrapping herself around me and held tight.
She exclaimed in such a way of her knowing me all along. And asked if I had not wondered about her identity being the same as his dead love. I looked at her then, held her close and felt tears of joy form within my eyes, I told her of how I thought of her as dead for I never saw her rise after our incident with the vampire. I hugged her once again to find that this time, she bit into me with such passion I felt my heart warm once again.
After we broke we exchanged our new names and found her's was now Blood Beauty. But during this, for the second time that night, I was interrupted by a knock upon the door, though this one with much violence behind it. She looked up at me in most fear and begged upon me not to open it. She told me she was feeding in the local village to survive and now they had come for their revenge. So we kept quiet, yet the door was not strong enough to hold back their battering and they flooded in. She pushed me aside and forced me into another room. When I entered once again I found my love truly lost. Her heart ripped and her head severed. I buried her in her grave, intended many a century ago and now once again I live in the sorrow of my eternal love for my one love. My Elizabeth, My Blood Beauty
