Title: The wind beckons

by Chris from Northamptonshire | in writing, poetry

Open the window and none do care
Of that refreshing feeling running through their hair
It travels across land and sea
To be here with you and me
So do not moan when the wind is near
Just close your eyes and open your ears

In the times of yore
Sails were used instead of oars
Why should we deny the power of Mother Nature?
An ever so delicate creature
With the power of sun and the moon at hand
All across this wonderful land

A sailor's life is the only one for me
To be with one and to be free
The wind will be my only energy
As I go across the mighty sea
With the sail at the ready
And the heart and soul feeling so freely

I shall return of course one day
And reveal to you all the one true way
However the choice is yours and yours alone
To be free like me or stuck still like a stone
So again; do not moan when the wind is near
Just close your eyes and open your ears
