Title: Oppression

by Hannah from Bedfordshire | in writing, poetry

Why can't we be free?
From this endless tyranny?
Our hearts cry out,
But our bodies are shackled.
Our minds are numbed;
The thoughts stolen.
The right to chose? We wish.
Oppressors crack their whips more fiercely
These chains of ours rattle,
Bleeding rust onto our sickly skin.
When we fall, we do not rise
There is no point for us to survive
What we have isn't life,
It is what Death would shudder at.
When we finally take our last breath,
And fall into the abyss,
The silence has never been more welcome.
At last we are free,
From the endless tyranny

Just thinking about how people always get beaten down for their morals
