Title: Angels...(Prequel)
by Sapphire from London | in writing, fiction
"Seraph?," called the tall, but handsome man dressed in black. "Seraph darling, I can take you home, no-one has to know". Samuel, the tall man in black, had white hair that reached his shoulders-the colour of his hair contrasted well with his black suit, and he gleaming blue eyes that seemed to shine whatever the brightness of the room. He stepped gently over to the wardrobe, where Seraph had been earlier when they were playing hide and seek, and opened it- and just as he had thought, there she was sitting with her arms around her knees, and her knees against her chest. "I don't want to go home Sammy, this is my home now!" Seraph began to sob, and her beautiful green eyes began to fill with tears, to Samuel she looked so angelic, even in her sadness, she had an element of this serenity about her-of course this was no mistake, for indeed she was an angel; an angel of the highest order, but the folk of Nether Cliffe had thought her to have perished in the deadly fire that destroyed her home town back in Nether Cliffe. Somehow she had escaped and found her way here, to Earth, 'the realm of darkness' some of the Nether Cliffe folk refered to it. Even now young Samuel did not know why he was with what he thought to be a human, he was just so drawn to her, he was never meant to talk to her at all, or let his disguise fall before any human eyes. If he was found out he would be in a lot of trouble, it would mean certain death, no questions asked. Samuel thought of this and became nervous: what if she went and told someone that she was playing hide and seek with a half demon-that had the appearance of a human? What if he had revealed her true sight? (The true sight is in every human, it just needs a certain amount of time exposed to the magical world of Nether Cliffe, or one of the inhabitants needs to be in their company-without disguises). "Sammy, I'm tired now, I wanna go sleep" she rubbed her eyes, desperately trying to stay awake, Samuel smiled at this, "Young lady you need sleep then, shall I ask the magical fearie of sleep to help you fall asleep? She's very nice, what do you think?". Seraph looked up at him and nodded, she then reached for him, and he gladly picked her up and cradled her in his arms like a baby-in truth she did look like a new born, with her small body, hands and feet. Seraph would be six soon, Samuel had found out, as she told him earlier, he recalled: "I'll be six in July! That's next month, and it's on the 15th!" she had exclaimed with such excitement. Samuel stopped rocking her as she had fallen asleep very quickly. He walked over to the door, looked out of it into the hallway, left then right, and started for her room. His step was so gentle he could be no more noise than a moth. He entered her room, walked to her bed, pulled the cover back and set her down and placed the cover over her, she rolled over, now facing Samuel's direction, he smiled down at her, he knelt on the floor next to her bed, and bent down to give her a kiss on the cheek. He quickly removed his lips from her face and stood, walked over to the window and opened it, let himself out onto the balcony and closed the door behind him, he looked back in on her with a face of want for more time with the young girl who was so carefree and had not a thing to worry about except doctors, dentists, and the boogie man-which did in fact exist-and with that he leapt off the balcony landed softly on the grass below and ran off into the night...
