Title: Be strong
by Katie from Norfolk | in writing, poetry
When someone dies, it's like a tonne of bricks have landed on you,
You're lost, alone, scared and upset,
No one is there to guide you in the right direction
It's like someone has taken away your safety net.
You are still here, and they have left you,
People say to a better place,
But you know in the back of your head they were happy with you,
It hurts deep inside, you can't see or touch their face.
You feel like you have done wrong, or sinned against something,
You want them back in your arms to re live the happy days,
But that will never happen again,
Under the soil, the lifeless corpse lays.
The rain pours from your window at night,
The darkness is your new best friend,
The tongue they once had spoken from,
Has vanished just like their life, has come to an end.
A gravestone marks their peaceful bed,
Flowers make it look less frightening,
Deep inside you wish it was you there,
Standing there in the cold wishes you to be struck by lightening.
Mourners pass by, looking at their relatives' grave,
You have lost faith in life and wish they were alive,
You have to be strong for you, and your family,
If you are strong, the happiness that you once had, will soon revive.
I love writing, especially poetry. I wrote this so I hope you enjoy it.
