Title: A painting was not really a painting once you got to know the painter

by Bawuk | in writing, poetry

A painter once painted
A princess who wanted
To break free, but she was haunted

A queen didn't believe in her
A king wasn't even in the picture
A castle felt like a bird cage

She barely dreamt about princes
She barely cared about charming
She never thought she would kiss a frog

A kingdom was so much more
Than it looked like and
She seemed like the only one who noticed

Oh you dear painter
All she wanted was
For you to guide her
