Meaningless as everyday was, she couldn't help but pity everyone who seemed to think, there was actually a point in us trying. She had spent long hours wondering, honestly, where does it take us? Where will we be one day but back here again, feeling helpless and small , to die away without leaving a trace of our existence behind. She had known this for long, life was fatuous. But she lived, not for herself but for others, her parent , her sisters and others around her , also for the only thing she looked forward for in her sorrowful life, love. She got good grades, she even acted happy and laughed to make others happy, and it worked, no one doubted it. 'Oh she's as happy as can be', her uncle had once said, so she played her role well, but was it the truth? No'it wasn't, but no one ventured to find out. And she learnt to keep shut.

She leaned against the railing as she had started to feel her legs give way underneath her, and as she was assured by the stiff steel that supported her; a tear escaped her eyes and trickled down her warm cheek. 'Oh ,not again' , she thought , for she had cried only too many times today, but then, what was new? This happened every night before bed. But now it felt strange, standing there on the edge on her own, looking down at the cobbled street. Surrounded by the silence, in her track pants and sweat shirt that seemed to cling to her every nook and cranny and around her curves. She let the tears slide down, unaware for how long when she gave them one last wipe.

The cliff grew closer and closer, and she couldn't help feel a gravity being emitted from it, she couldn't help herself. But as a desire to jump off that cliff became stronger, she realized she was playing with other people's lives as well 'but nevertheless she found herself on the edge, the very edge, one foot extended forward striving for a painless fall into a nothingness. Where she believed pain was a mere rumour and the happiness was something no one desired because desire was just tittle-tattle. But she changed her mind; she wanted one last good look at what she was leaving behind, only too happily. But her thoughts are disturbed by a male silhouette walking towards her in the pitch darkness of the night. She was scared, , but her mind was only filled with more curiosity and questions when the built form revealed himself , thanks to the light from a near by light post.
