Title: Fake smile
by Tariro from Cambridgeshire | in writing, poetry
When I wake
I decide how the day will go
With a simple smile
Or a simple frown
When we meet and greet
I decide how our day will go
With a warm smile
Or a cold frown
But I hate it, I truly hate it
When you act like an injured fawn-
Just because I did not smile for you
All I did was give you a frown
We can not go on carelessly giving away smiles-
When we do not deserve them'
So day after day I force myself to give you a-
fake smile, full of fake hope and fake love
I do this because I will be guilty of not loving you
If I do not smile it's over for you and me,
So you say
But I hate it, I truly hate it
When you ask me to smile for your enjoyment
Can't I be selfish too?
You act like a wounded child-
Just because I cannot explain the frown upon my face
Is it a crime to neither smile nor frown?
Is it a crime to be in-between -
Happiness and nearly-happy but not sad?
A bad day full of smiles and frowns.
