Title: Christmas cheer

by Chris from Northamptonshire | in writing, poetry

When the year comes to an end
Looking back is the usual trend
At this wonderful time of year
We should only be full of cheer
With presents to be open
And praise to be spoken

When you were young and thought
Of Santa and the presents that he brought
Not being able to sleep or sit still
And never being ill
The ripping of the paper
And solving the 'how did you know?' caper

Lights and decorations
In every house across the nation
The smell of Christmas dinner
Always a cheer up winner
Two words unite all of us
They are; Merry Christmas
