Title: Humanity and the preoccupied
by Danielle from London | in writing, poetry
I lied to you.
Because yesterday I promised to bring water. I did not.
Two days ago some seeds to plant and spring.
Before I said I loved you when it rained
Cried when it snowed
Rejoiced in the sun
And yet, my soul knew none of it. It was a lie
Yes, I lied to myself
Some people wanted to drink and crops to grow. Somehow they died
I only left the seeds on marshy floor
But someone took them when it had rained
Stole them. Not there
I am in despair
Mankind's hope torn apart by a savage beast, me
My own doing had done me.
Now my heart has died.
My soul disconnected with the death outside.
Nature and the way that people are so easily distracted and tend to put themselves before everyone else - which ultimately leads to disastrous consequences.
