Title: Questioning the noble
by Taylor-Marie from London | in writing, poetry
On the beaches,
I sit and sigh,
As memoirs of life and death,
Glitter by,
And on a plaque,
Their names do shine,
For war and death,
Poppies litter the shrine.
We name them all,
Heroes: true and bold.
But are they so?
As the devestated bodies lie cold.
I remember them,
On the eleventh day,
And how they were,
Led astray,
As they fought,
For the noblest ones,
Who cower,
For cover,
Before the fire of guns,
Innocents who cry,
As the night,
Drones on,
But was it right?
To give in,
And put up arms,
And let WW2 begin?
Rememberance day is coming up so I wrote this.
