The Octopus The Squid and The Turtle
In which we learn how silly Octopuses can be
It was early in the morning at San Francisco harbour. Everything was still and peaceful apart from a young octopus's house. The young octopuses name was Oliver Gamblin. He was 95 and lived under a large seaweed covered rock; in fact it was the largest house in the ocean.
Anyway I must get back to the story. The commotion was caused when a young swordfish carefully tied Ollie's tentacles to the bed. Ollie was well and truly stuck and his only hope now would be Sara Brown a kind and sweet natured squid. Sara would collect small flowers from the Sea bed and place them gently into a seaweed woven basket. After collecting them she would take them back to her small cottage and sprinkle them with magic dust and give them to those in need.
Today her best friend Ollie was in need so she rushed over with her basket and hung a wreath of sea flowers over his door. It looked, magnificent she then fiddled with the door until she pushed it a-jar. Quickly she began to untangle the knots with her dainty, fragile hands. After a long wait a patient Ollie sat down with a cup of Camomile tea (to calm him down).
They sat down and talked about it for hours until the day had past and night was drawing in.
'Oh well how time flies' Sara smiled slightly unsure of what she just said. She blushed and gathered her things and fled back to the comfort of her house. Ollie at this point was slightly embarrassed that he should drive guests away.
The lost turtle
The seagulls were soaring high and fighting over the remains of some fish. Meanwhile an old turtle was plodding down the beach preparing to make the long and tedious journey to her auntie's house- Miss Sara Brown. She placed one foot in the water and tested it.
'Hmmmm' next a sigh 'This water is a bit cold but if I want to make it there for 11' o clock I must begin my journey now.' Slowly but surely Laura took her usual pace and edged into the flowing water.
'Clomp, plop, splish, splash' these were the only sounds that echoed on that beach.
Meanwhile Sara and Ollie were preparing a salad with lobster as the main dish. The stone table was lined with petals, and rusty knives and forks from ship wrecks were laid out for three. Time went on and as the turtle became later Sara and Ollie became more and more nervous about their friend.
After calling the C.Police (Formally known as the crab police) Laura wearily knocked on the door and casually asked, is the food ready yet.
Sara wept and hugged Laura then shrieked
'You couldn't even be bothered to call or let us know' More tears spilled from her eyes then a sniff 'But because I'm forgiving I invite you in to eat lobster and salad with us.' Laura daren't add that she only ate plants instead she swallowed the food gratefully and started a conversation to explain why she was late.
