Title: Why fall in love?
by Danni from West Yorkshire | in writing, non-fiction
When people talk about love, they usually list the qualities which people generally my age scoff at. The shortness of breath, the upmost of admiration, the butterflies in the pit of your stomach and most of all, the way the persons eyes light up, the rush of happiness you feel they can give you just by entering the room.
The way people are so obsessed with it! I don't really think I have such authority to say so, as I am yet to fall in love but people go to such lengths for this feeling. There's websites advertising people wanting love, there's newspaper ads, and more commonly known in my age range, step by step guides of achieving this feeling and getting yourself the perfect man.
I myself am at a loss to see the appeal in all of this. Why people want to put themselves at such risk. I mean when ever this person you fall in love with lets you down, your mood goes sourer, the happiness is gone and everything around you is affected. In the most extreme cases you become depressed, your grades drop and you sit in for months sobbing, and saying to yourself 'why me'.
All for this feeling. Which got me wondering, why would you want such a mood altering feeling, such as that one? Why not be comfortable with who you are? Why would anyone want to fall in love? When it simply ruins everything?
Because.
It's the best feeling in the world, and most wouldn't trade it happening for anything.
Love =]
