Title: True understanding
by Hannah from Kent | in writing, poetry
You stare into his eyes and see nothing but purity,
Yet the rest just see a faking depression.
Surely this isn't maturity?
Or is it this hatred recession?
Don't rely on that first impression,
For who are we to judge?
The drama in this play is just obsession,
And yet we still hold this grudge.
Always looking at the pain,
Always feeling this shame,
All we do is complain,
And yearn to be in fame.
Yet money won't make you happy,
Objects won't fill the emptiness,
The greed just makes you unhappy,
It's not worth this so called success.
You look into his heart and see tears,
Yet the rest just see this cover up.
Surely this pain can't have been for years?
Or does he just pick himself up?
Remember when you were young,
Innocently oblivious to this world around you,
When you didn't know above you this darkness hung,
And ahead of you was a life to pursue.
Yet as things start to change,
You learn to cope,
When the real world feels so strange,
You learn not to give up hope.
They don't know him truly,
Yet you know him like no other.
And when his problems get unruly,
You won't let him suffer.
You're his safety net,
When he falls.
It was fate that you two met,
And to him your heart calls;
Forever comparing yourself to the world,
When to yourself, this isn't true,
Stop the madness of this 'new world',
Because the world will never compare to you...
Losing a close friend
