Title: This Is My Life

by Emily from West Yorkshire | in writing, poetry

This is my life,
Ten steps behind the rest.
Always the last to enter a room,
No one notices,
My daily gloom.

Holidays are supposed to be fun,
This one isn't, because I've got no one!
Out dancing with my 'plus one',
How do I know that Its not just another con,
A practicle joke drawn on for too long,
A sliver of hope,
Look too close and then it's gone.

Why can't anybody hear my cry?
I'm crying, crying,
No, I'm screaming inside,
Can't you see the horror hidden in my eyes?
Its impossible, impossible to ever disguise,
It ruins my life and makes me want to die!
This is my life,
Thankyou Goodnight!

I was inspired afer reading a book about an a boy who is neglected by his mother and beaten up by his step father. This story moved me so much to the point of crying and so I channelled that emotion into this poem.
