Title: The first snow of winter

by Sophie from Dorset | in writing, poetry

I stood in the virgin snow
Where nobody else would go
Awed by its pureness
It was their fear and my soreness
For them that ushered me there
A beating heart without a care
Once told me this
'Don't waste your time with a fake kiss
Go out and find a real one'
And so I did and I found an ideal one
Right in the snow I stood in
Right there with him
The boy unafraid of the snow
Where nobody else but us would go

It's never snowed in either of the places I've lived (at least not enough for me to think it's snow), and I only saw real snow when I went skiing with school.
