Title: The fear called Sinister Love

by Lucy from Essex | in writing, poetry

As my eyes glistened with tears,
And my arms fell to my sides,
I'm not scared of what he shares,
I'm afraid of what he hides.

Even the smartest of women,
And the strongest of men,
Have fears hidden deep,
That they'll never amend.

But listen to me for what I shall say,
As telling will set you free,
So please take note of what I speak,
And know there are dark sides to me.

About a year into my past,
Happiness struck deep to my heart,
As I walked strongly up to him,
To make our relationship start.

It started out simple,
Not anything big,
He provided no presents,
But then again, I'm not a pig,

But in the space of around a month,
Our love began to bloom,
Just like the flowers of a rainforest,
In the middle of a monsoon.

He stole lots of kisses from me,
And I stole them right back,
I was the envy of the girls,
Who all still travelled in packs.

But after 6 months of kisses and hugs,
I soon began to grow bored,
I thought that he was still only here,
Because he was liking being adored.

But the true reason for his consistency,
Was that he truly cared,
But as a male he is unpredictable,
And that is why I'm scared.

I like writing about love, and I wrote this for people who get scared of things, to let them know that the best way to rid yourself of fear is to talk about it (also this isnt a true story).
