Title: Overtaken
by Louise from Kent | in writing, poetry
It's gone and just left me
Ran off with something new
It used to be a canvass with many colours
It used to be a zoo with exotic creatures
The box used to be crammed full of junk
The missing thoughts would lie consumed in grime
The wax work used to stand tall and proud
The crevices and cracks used to be filled
New ideas would hurtle past my window
It used to be an ocean
But now all the fish are dead.
It used to be a desert
But the water has sucked up the sand.
It used to be a bright magical world.
Now the magic's faded into dust
It's just full of the cobwebs
That I've managed to make up.
It used to be a journal
It held all my weekly events
Now it's just a volcano
Which is waiting for the lave
Now it's just a tea cup
With nothing to fill it up
My thoughts are so last year
My ideas already been used.
My works been overtaken
By a friend of the family too!
It used to be a skate ark
Where fresh thoughts hung out
Now it's just a rubbish tip
Where waste disposal gets chucked out.
That's what people call it.
My world, thoughts and ideas
It's just a load of rubbish
As I said its so last year!
Being told you're no good at writing usually makes me brush up on my act.
