Title: Memories

by Nicole from Hampshire and Isle of Wight | in writing, poetry

Staring at your picture,
And the light goes off,
Just to remind me,
That you're gone.

Still I bless the light,
That shined upon you,
It kept me going,
Saved me from falling.

Now I sit and stare,
At the light that kept you here,
For the day it will cease,
You will fade from view.

Now that day has finally come,
Photographic memorise are all that's left,
If only you weren't the only one,
Who knew the truth behind the smile.

When I close my eyes,
Your smile haunts me,
It makes me scream,
But you can't see.

You don't care because,
You're no longer here,
Here to see the mess,
That's become me.

One day we'll meet again,
Somewhere a long way away,
Sometime a long time away,
But photographs won't exist.
