Title: Ent got one
by Petatus from Northamptonshire | in writing, poetry
In summer i do swish and sway,
My leaves a-glory in the sun,
The bleating breeze whooshing through my many arms,
Sweeping silences in which a bird may tweet.
In autumn i do stand in majestic glory,
The ground beneath me a carpet of colour,
The greens replaced by shocking reds and fiery yellows,
And a season of yawns before a long winter sleep.
In winter i do creak and shiver,
My arms are left bare to the harrowing cold,
Nothing left but the gentle drift of snow and clash of storm clouds,
'Tis now that we gather and sleep our long sleep,
Together we crowd.
In spring i do laugh and cheer,
With my buds and my blossom replacing the bare,
The air cool and soft, i do swish and sway as in summer before,
The bleating of lambs and the tweet of the chicks,
we do stretch and wipe away our sleep, for new life has begun.
My inspiration? Er . . . Trees?
