Title: The Joker
by Laura from Buckinghamshire | in writing, poetry
'I'll tell a joke,' the joker said
And they all sat down
To watch the man behind a mask
And only see a clown.
'What's two plus two?' He smiling asked,
And they replied they didn't know.
'It's four you fools, you laughing tools,'
He jeered in mocking tones.
But then he frowned and seemed to weep,
'My friends I do not know,
Why it's so hard for you to see
Not everything's a show.
All you see's a joke, a scat,
You see a laughing clown.'
'But Joker,' They all shouted back,
'Your job's to laugh not frown.'
The old man watched and shook his head,
'My Dear it happens still,
The Joker always stands alone,'
She replied 'He always will.'
They all cried out for one last joke,
But joker he said no,
'No my friends,' He softly spoke,
'It's time for me to go.'
And joker smiled and danced away
Under midnight sun
And thanks to fools, he'll always say
That after all, he won.
Always wanted to write a nonsense poem :D
