Title: The Death of a Queen Cat
by Sara from London | in writing, poetry
In deep and serene pain whilst very unstable,
I'm asking myself how my life became a children's fable.
It begins to rain and I feel it patting down my back,
Reducing my being to a soul of hatred and black.
Lifting my chin higher, water drips from my whisker,
And the pace of my heart slowly becomes brisker.
My claws unsheathe, deep into the earth,
Just like the time I stung whilst first giving birth.
The tension of my muscle as it quivers is strong,
As I cry out for the last time my very own song.
I no longer can breathe and am agonizingly stiff,
And I give the world as I knew it my very last sniff.
