Title: Cine

by Carleanne from Hertfordshire | in writing, non-fiction

Cine are a one of those bands that have a real feel good factor about them. Id personally describe them as a soothing massage to the soul, without sounding like a complete hippy!

Their ability to produce quality music that everybody can relate to is sure to get them far. Formed at the beginning of 2008 they have come a long way in such a short period of time.

I was really impressed when I clicked onto their MySpace for the first time. To be honest I didn't know what to expect because at the time I'm pretty sure their name was 'Grand Central', not a name you can really get much from, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the song 'The Score'. The opening of the song really had me hooked, the slow mellow strum of the guitar really set off a relaxed and chilled feeling. The vocals, provided by Paul Aiden, very much match the style and mood of the song. It just adds to that chilled out feeling. The band definitely have the right man for the job!

The song has a poetic charm about it that I quite honestly can't explain. The rhythm, the style, the vocals, it all just works. This goes for the rest of their material too.

The bands songs are mostly slow and the lyrics really show off just how good they are. Many of the lyrics connote deeper meanings that could be different for everybody. For example 'we're in the eye of the storm'- I'm pretty sure that the phrase conjures up different images within everybody's minds-eye. I think this is something that many bands try and fail to do, for these guys though, its just comes naturally.

The band are formed of talented and experienced individuals which is really reflected in their music. I don't think that I could possibly compare them to any other artist, despite going through my iTunes play list 3 times!
While listening to them I noticed that Paul's voice sounded similar to that of Coldplays Chris Martin. Although they sound nothing like Coldplay I guess you could say that there's just something about them!

I must say though, that my favourite songs have to be 'All Over The World' and 'The Score'- two completely different songs and my favourite for two completely different reasons. If you listened to both of the songs one after the other you can really hear the different sounds they are capable of producing. The contrast of both songs, in my opinion, reassure their audience that the band have something to offer everybody. A definite thumbs up.
