Title: Let's play pretend again
by Tree | in writing, poetry
So this is what we're up against
Doesn't look too hard
We can make it through
Don't let down your guard
Cue the irony
Slaughter the dramatics
This is how we participate
In hopeless teenage antics
And you laugh again
With tears going down your farce
You hate who you are?
Too bad your emotions are fake
Because we know it's all a game
The words aren't yours to keep,
Words you can't die to erase
Man, this game has got you beat
So screw it, fake it
No one gives a damn
Act like you're important
Pretend to be a friend
Intense boredom and abrupt loneliness Credits: I must credit those two girls in my class who I considered friends but came to realize were nothing more than fakes. Hurray..
