Title: Through a dove's eyes

by Natalie | in writing, poetry

I see the eyes of the suffering
I hear the cries of pain
I feel the sadness of the people
I taste the bitter way of life.

So I try to call for help
But my words turn into whistles
And my voice cannot be heard
Not a word, not a word.

I sense the world is unbalanced
Words made for promises not kept.
We must move on from the grief
Turn over a new leaf.

So I try to call for help
But my words turn into whistles.
And my voice cannot be heard
Not a word, not a word.

It was after a trip to the Philippines and seeing life in a developing country, that triggered an idea for this poem. Using the symbol of the dove, to symbolize hope and purity i also wanted the truth to be seen but through a dove's eyes, although the dove wants to help & support, it's helpless. This is a very special poem to me.
