Title: The saviour in my sea of darkness

by Nadia from London | in writing, poetry

The breeze penetrates the trees ever so softly, swaying
Leaves scatter the ground making silent whispers in the air I wish I could know what they're saying,

The light flicks on almost suddenly,
The beacon of the waves,
And how I wish I could know,
If I could know what it saves,

The gleaming rotation lights up the darkness,
Our ships saviour,
And tonight as I sit on my rusty deck,
That light may do me a favour,

So I thank the beautiful shining light sitting on the horizon,
My shining star,
Oh I wonder,
Is it lit by fire?

So every evening it twinkles on the horizon even when I'm miles away,
It's there every time I turn around, it never goes away,
It's there to remind me, I'm not alone,
Even in lands I have not roamed, my light in shining armour

I like to think that there is a small light out there to guide us in the dark parts of life. This is my inspiration.
