Title: Walking home from school
by Charlotte from Lancashire | in writing, poetry
I stumble on, the cold hitting my face.
Walking alone in this dark, empty place.
The wind strokes my cheeks,
Brushes away my clingy hair.
Into the windows my gaze moves on,
I wonder where everyone has gone.
I look ahead, head held high
Smiling at occasional passers-by.
The sun trying to break free
Just like me
The clouds in her way,
She'll be out another day.
Crossing the non- busy street
Savouring my last toffee sweet,
The pavement looks so dull
The sky of clouds is full.
The trees shake
Like there might be an earthquake
No flowers out today
They only come out on sunny days.
At last I've arrived
I survived
The long dreaded walk home from school
And I did not make myself look like a fool.
I just like writing poems about the weather and seasons.
