Title: Alone

by Jenna from Staffordshire | in writing, poetry

Alone and forgotten,
Lost and afraid;
Trapped in this darkness,
My deformity unscathed.

My heart so heavy,
This pain...too much;
Forgotten by the world,
No name, no touch.

This evil drifts around me...
Poison in the air;
I will never be free,
Drowning in despair.

Fleshes rage, old age,
Why would any man lament?
A wretch, a fool,
The devils contempt.

Atoned to this feeling,
Of Woe and tears;
The solemn silence,
Of these fears.

A Gothic poem I wrote based on the Monster is Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein.
