Title: The Phoenix Through The Ashes

by Charlotte from Suffolk | in writing, poetry

I sit at the fireplace
watching the flames flicker red and gold,
just sitting and staring as the day grows old.
Lost in my thoughts
I wander afar in the deep of my mind
watching and waiting as I leave life far behind.
I will rise like a phoenix through the ashes
and fall like prey through the sky
as I discover the truth which was once all a lie.
Shocked, scared and disgusted
at the people I once had trusted.
Rising and falling
like a phoenix through the ashes
rising and falling
as my childhood crashes.

Written a small while ago, I improved upon it. It was inspired by my parents divorce and ""Let It Be"" by The Beatles.
