Growing up, we have all heard tales of ghosts and ghouls. And other spirits that keep young gullible children up at night, clutching their duvet.
Creatures that do not rest, day or night, that watch you, envying your every move, longing to be heard, seen, smelt and felt by others, themselves.
You may have heard, of their evilness or their wrong doings and hate them for it. For hanging about earth, lurking in old buildings, screeching when darkness falls, re-enacting their death over and over. Or perhaps they do not mourn themselves, at all. They perhaps feel no need too. Feeling that they are still amongst the living.
This is very much the case with many of the poor souls. Not realizing that they are no longer flesh and blood, they refuse to step into 'The Light'. Some maybe have taken no notice, or are simple, unaware of its existence.
In cases like this, many of the places that are haunted by these ignorant spirits, which have been resold to, living families, are rather uncomfortable places.
Well, imagine it from the ghost's point of view. You're sitting in your lounge (Calling it a 'Living room' is hardly appropriate!) when you hear the opening of your front door. When you go to see who it is (expecting to see your Husband/Wife/son /daughter/ mother/father etc, who seem to have taken a long time to come home from work/ school!) You find complete strangers barge in dumping a load of boxes on 'your' floor! Then they have the cheek to comment rudely about the wallpaper being 'ugly'!
You can hardly just sit there and do nothing now, can you?!?!
Many ghosts try to carry on as usual, continuing with their hobbies or chores. While the living families wander about the place messing it up.
Some ghosts get very annoyed about this and try to talk to their living roommates. But, being alive, they are incapable of hearing, their pleads!
This is when ghosts take matters into their own hands. They will move the stuff, themselves! Unfortunately this can result in a few loud outbursts, from the alive side. They are NOT grateful. They only seem to like things their way. No wonder the ghost may seem a little irritable, they may have tried there best to be nice and share but some humans are utterly IMPOSSIBLE! They won't even try to cooperate.
Then, after a few months of disagreement between the family of living and the dead, things turn nasty. The dead start to get physical and begin to throw stuff at the humans and the humans start to make 'calls'.
These are not any calls. These are calls that could possibly end the ghost's entire existence, depending on the human's choice.
Some of the more reasonable warm blooded will simply call in a medium so they can contact the ghost and try to get on speaking terms.
Some of the more difficult humans will call in a priest, the priest will simply read from the bible and the ghost will be wished away' like magic.
Some of the outrageous humans will call someone to have the ghosts sent away for good, against the ghosts desires. This can scare the ghost; it would be like dying' again.

So next time you hear a creak on the staircase or notice that your favourite vase has moved without your consent, think twice before you move it back, consider your invisible buddy's feelings. Perhaps they tried to speak to you about it'.
And if you are having problems with ghost, call a medium and talk through them'.
But if you can help it, and you've tried every other thing you could possibly try' DO not chase them out of the house!
Who knows, perhaps it could one day be you trying to share your house with a load of strangers'!
