Title: My holocaust
by Ria | in writing, poetry
They slaughtered ME,
tortured ME,
humiliated ME,
oppressed ME.
Maybe not ME'
but my people.
Aren't we one and the same.
Arabs'
I could hate them.
Honor killings, Arranged marriages'
How many of MY sex have to die?
Africans'
I could hate them.
Genocide, Ethnic cleansing'
How many of MY color have to die?
Westerners'
I could hate them.
Terrorism, Suicide bombers'
How many of MY race have to die?
Europeans'
I could hate them.
Crusades, in the name of God'
How many of MY religion have to die?
To make MY life simple,
I could hate them all.
South Americans and their drugs
corrupting MY minds.
Asians and their trafficking
stealing MY girls.
But I won't hate,
I can't degrade.
These are our mistakes
from them we could rise so great.
I won't be put in a
binding, iron, box.
Labeled at what cost?
Let me not be judged
by a scrap of cloth,
the shape of my eye, the tilt in my voice
the shade of my tone.
Strive through the ignorance.
Us, humans have paid the penance.
Allow us not to live in torment
forgive, let us repent.
Once we have become wise
let hate pay the price.
Quick, hurry we must reconcile,
for this cause how hard will we toil.
Let bygones be bygone
it's all over and done,
lets put the past to rest
here comes the real test.
Can there be no them or they,
he did, she did and they say?
Forget all the conflicting separation
let's pave the way in preparation
to make it all stop, eradicate
these words of hate and discriminate.
Religion, sex, color or race.
Judge me instead by the smile on my face
the depth of my soul, the width of my heart.
Let condemnation not pull people apart.
We are all one and the same
what divides us now is only name.
Looking beyond the simple surface
together united in purpose.
There will not be
My holocaust or genocide in me.
Then justly in hours, days or even years,
After we have been healed and dried all the tears.
It will be ours.
Our freedom and our peace,
Our breaths at last at ease.
Together, united
Our world.
Irrespective of the atrocious tragedies the world has faced... and the condemnations the world has give... the terrifying holocaust of world continues
