Title: Apocalypsed

by Tom from Lancashire | in writing, fiction

3. HOSPITAL
(Down an eerie corridor, Emma is trying to find her feet. She stumbles, but gradually gets back her sense of direction.)

(Close up on her nose. She sniffs the air, and pulls a disgusted look.)

EMMA:
Urgh, fish...

MAN: (Off screen)
Nurse, what are you doing? Its midnight why are you waking me?

(The sound of a drill)

(The man screams, Emma looks horrified)

(The scream echo's down the corridor. The curtains around his bed sweep open, and Emma hides behind a wall, but keeps an eye around the corner to see what is going on.)

(Further down the corridor, three nurses are carrying ' in fact, they are DRAGGING a screaming man out of his bed. They put a contraption of some sort over his mouth so that his screams are muffled.)

(Emma looks confused ' as if this isn't really happening. She hears the nurses heading up her way. She hides in an empty room, but keeps the door open wide enough to hear what the nurses are saying.)

NURSE 1:
We need to take these subjects out in a more discreet way... We're bound to get one of the other ones awake. If they find out what we're doing ' we're finished.

NURSE 3:
If any of the other subjects wake up in the middle of a midnight raid then we've been told to kill them. Remember, working in a hospital is the perfect alibi.

(Cut to a horrified reaction of Emma.)

NURSE 2:
We're doing what we've been told to do. Now that's that. Take him to the lab.

(Nurse 1 and 3 leave carrying the screaming man. He's got a broken leg so he can't escape.)

(Nurse 1 stands in front of Emma's doorway. Emma is frozen in fear... It's as if the nurse knows she's there...)

(The nurse sniffs.)

NURSE 1: (To herself)
We really need to get rid of that fish smell...

(Nurse 1 leaves. Emma sneaks out, making sure the coast is clear. It is, so she heads back to her bed.)

(POV Shot: Things start to go hazy. Her vision blurs.)

(She falls down on the floor before she can reach the bed...)

My inspiration are sci fi films/shows mixed with real life drama. I like Torchwood, Doctor who and Cloverfield. My writing is inspired by the writer Russell T. Davies. He's a good man!
