Title: Enlightened darkness
by Danhi from London | in writing, poetry
The tears of a thousand souls cannot rectify the wrongs before her
He took all she had and shattered her into a thousand pieces
She remembers not the spectre who stole her last breath
Leaving her hollow, trapped, in unending darkness
She remembers when she was but a rose and her smile meant something
Yet all she sees is distortion, would you smile at this?
No she dares not, forced to embrace this suffocating kiss
She fought it once, tearing at her face
Hoping the cool of her blood would rid her of her demons
Yet it seems the blood just provided more for him to take
It wasn't enough to steal her strength
He had to take all her beauty away
Now's she's left with the scars of the thousand souls before her
Doomed to realise that soon this maiden will be forgotten
Taking once more that journey into the dust.
And his lies will be blown away with the sand,
Soon to be stone, so that it can be all someone else has ever known
My inspiration in this case was the painting, Scream.
