Title: The Turn of a Blind Eye
by Hayche | in writing, fiction
Hi, I'm relatively new to all this! I just wanted to say that any names I've written here are purely fictitious, i.e. "Tallin".
The night time breeze rustled through the trees of Tallin. The village itself was eerily quiet tonight. The approach of winter meant everyone was locked away in their homes, not daring to open their doors in case a violent gust of wind threatened to hold their measly, straw huts hostage. Located 80 miles from Kabul, Tallin was the village no-one had heard of. Even native Afghanis, who had lived in the country since the time of their ancestors would deny that a village called Tallin even existed. The mountains surrounding it made the village extremely remote. The villagers themselves rarely left their haven of hills, worried even they would not be able to find it again once they left it. For this reason, very little happened in the village. Crime was unheard of, and Eid was celebrated strictly behind the closed doors of this secluded village. But it was above Tallin where things really 'happened'.
I get inspiration from current events in the news. I know it sounds weird, but I think its a great source of imagination!
