Title: The Worst Christmas Ever ( A True Story)
by Rebecca from Northamptonshire | in writing, non-fiction
Dear Diary
It's the 20th of December and there are just 4 days until Christmas. I still haven't got an advent calendar, but hopefully mum will get me one today. She said she would get me a Cadbury one, my favourite chocolate. With any luck, she won't get me a Smarties calendar- I can't stand them. I hope to put up the decorations tomorrow; I've got my own little tree and a glass reindeer that always sits at the top of the tree called Lincoln. Every year I wrap him up in a piece of tinfoil and tissue to prevent him getting broken. GOSH!!! Is that the time? It's already ten to ten- I need to get to sleep.
Good Night
Dear Diary
I've got good news and bad news; the good news is that there's only 3 days to go until Christmas. To think that in three days' time I will have all I wanted for Christmas.
Things I want for Christmas:
A mobile phone (not pink!!!!)
A CD player that works
Nintendo DS Lite
Nintendo DS games
MP3 player
A good book that I can get into
CDS- Bowling for Soup, Leona Lewis
Money
DVDS- 'Mean Girls'
The bad news is that mum gave all our decorations to a charity except my tree and Lincoln. We don't even have any tinsel left. As well as that mum couldn't get me an advent calendar, but she is so late to be buying one now. Good news- we have broken up from school for the Christmas holiday. Got to get to bed!!
Night Night
Dear Diary
It was the most boring and worst day ever today I didn't have anything to do. One of the worst things that happened today was when Mum broke Lincoln she knocked my tree and Lincoln smashed. I am so upset and after he broke I cried for ages. This is turning out to be the worst Christmas ever.
Bye xxx
Dear Diary
There is only two more days to go, tomorrow we are going to Santa's grotto. I am really excited- it should be great! There will be lights and Christmas trees, the total opposite to our house!!! After that Mum said that we could go to Pizza Hut- that is my favourite and greatest restaurant in the world. But it is a long and boring drive to get there Mum said it takes over 2 hours.
See you tomorrow XXXX
Dear Diary
Mum drove all the there to find out that Santa Claus was sick, literally!!! I was so disappointed and annoyed to find out that I couldn't see Santa Claus, although I didn't really want him to be sick down me, so I suppose it was for the best. We didn't even get to go to Pizza Hut, because when Mum checked her pockets she found that she had forgotten her purse. I am so frustrated that was the one thing that could have gone right this Christmas and it didn't.
I can't wait until tomorrow though because it's Christmas!!! Just one more sleep until Christmas.
Dear Diary
Why was I excited about today?? The presents that I got were just dreadful- I mean one of the first presents that I opened I was really eager to open since it looked just like a Nintendo DS but it turned out to be a tissue box cover I mean why would anyone want that?! They didn't improve either' I got given slippers, toffees, a china clown doll, (when clowns scare me!), ballet music and a cuddly toy rabbit. Oh whoopee, lucky me! Still it could have been worse, I guess. I'm lying in bed all snuggly with my rabbit even though it was the worst Christmas ever, it was still an improvement on last year's!
It is an elaborated version of our Christmas last year through the eyes of my younger sister! Credits: Pollyanna, my sister
