Title: Collapse
by Lauren from Kent | in writing, poetry
I'm failing to succumb to hatred's final screams
And my voice is raw with blood as I shatter all your dreams
Combining with the darkness, my faith to overcome
These lies a final torment, your secret smile undone
I'm learning to exhale laughter amidst the cries
But I know I cannot get past without the world's demise
So fitful in awakeness, so tired in my sleep
Nothing seems to resurrect me, except one hope to keep
Glance upwards through the city and look out for the stars
Diminished in ebony, pinpoints forever far
Once blinded never can I regain the peace of mind?
The fragile grasp on sanity, unknown to humankind.
I'm failing to succumb to hatred's final screams
And my voice is raw with blood as I shatter all your dreams
My heart is torn and burdened, my soul withered and black
These lies a final torment, knowing I can never go back
Written in a dark period of my life, it felt good to release it onto paper.
