Title: Shut Away
by Holly | in writing, poetry
Let me out.
I'm begging you, please
I'll get down on my knees.
I pout. Do you want me to shout?
Time ticks slowly, the clock
Combusting under my feverish stare.
Let me out,
Who cares to where?
I don't care if it's raining,
Outside's where I belong
With the slow natural hum of
Steady natural life.
The rain on the window
Beats the steady natural song.
Let me out.
I can't stand another moment
In this boring, plastic,
Electric-lighted jail. With
Nothing but the wind outside
To keep me from falling asleep, the wail Of the rain against the Same pane over and over and over Again.
Let me out!
And as the clock hands reach the hour
Doors open, blossom, as a flower.
