Title: We Sleep In Blue Buildings
by Jye from Devon | in writing, poetry, lyrical
We sleep in blue buildings,
and stare at the lonely rain,
in the eyes of passers by we see the lies,
where the homeless sleep in bed,
and Bankers rest in the drain.
Across the mountains I’d walk,
and into the eyes of the steppenwolf gaze,
and over these cobbled stones I’ve slept.
Just to dream of you.
But resting past the colour, in,
in a hue of grey.
I sit and try to consider what you say.
And picture the white sails of tomorrow.
For wise men don’t think of themselves,
they sit and ponder what we do;
the how, why and who.
But even in the tears of a rhino,
they couldn’t divine the journey of your boat, across the lake of my eye,
We sleep in blue buildings,
and stare at the lonely rain,
in the eyes of passers by we see the lies,
where the homeless sleep in bed,
and Bankers rest in the drain.
You’ve seen their dancers and actors.
You’ve moved from circus to fair.
Lost in risque masks and coloured sequins,
simple blue eyes are nothing to compare.
The worries of the sombre man sat on his little ship,
east of Siberia, and into the drift.
Mean nothing to a woman who has it all,
pearls and jewels, beauty on a script,
These rusted bolts hold together the iron of his vessel,
but it’s not the hull that’s cracking;
under the waves, iced with frost,
he knows there’s someone missing.
We sleep in blue buildings,
and stare at the lonely rain,
in the eyes of passers by we see the lies,
where the homeless sleep in bed,
and Bankers rest in the drain.
A poem, or set of lyrics written to describe how things don't really matter, and how people are far too preoccupied within the looks of things to accept some form of real value, and are willing to kid themselves in order to prove this.
