Title: Guilt

Guilt

I'm the one who will cause you the stabbing ache at the pit of your heart,

I'm the one responsible for the uneasy burden that possesses your soul,

I'm the one that brings the unwanted tears that haunt you at night,

I deliver the tormenting whispers at the back of your mind,

I remind you of the screams and cries of what happened that night,

I'm the hopelessness that grips at your very being,

I'm the spirit that clings to your mind for eternity,

I'm Guilt.

I took part in a poetry workshop and we had to write a poem based on an emotion then become that emotion and write a poem about it. So I chose 'Guilt'. Enjoy.
