Title: A Summers Day
by Barbara Bielecka from Surrey | in writing, poetry, nature
A Summers Day
The sandy beaches laid for miles
We walked on rose pictured tiles
I looked around the coloured roads
I saw birds, crabs and toads
I skipped around, along the street
People were smiling in the heat
I thought to myself- what a wonderful day
I felt very strange in a wonderful way
No rain
No pain
No cry
No despair
Just silly happiness scented the air
I never felt better, I was carefree
I jumped in the water with frenzied spree
I looked at the sky when the sun went down
The diamonds were falling on the ground
I thought to myself, what a wonderful night
I wanted to dance and dance in delight.
I wrote this poem in Tenerife, I was inspired by the beautiful scenery. When we were on our holiday we took long walks and the roads had rose pictured tiles and that also made me write this poem. The main inspiration for this poem must be the lively atmospere within my family and I think to write great poetry you should be in the right mood for it and I was definitely having a great mood whilst writting this poem. I hope you enjoy it.
