Entry to the Game Design Competition by Mdhamiri who attended a FREE workshop at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Blast on tour in London. Mdhamiri says "How can I describe how I made the sounds in 200 words.. Well, here we go. I’ll try to summarise all the fun I had making sound effects for the Krulius into the pitiful 200 words I’ve been given. The moving sounds were the hardest, especially as the Krulius looks like he semi-glides. Eventually I came up with a sort of heavy stepping sound, that fits in with the metal (are they metal?) shoes that the Krulius wears. The toxic breath sounds were pretty easy, I just breathed into the microphone and distorted it a little. What can I say, I’m a natural at breathing! The digital bio-converter and modem sounds (whew what a big mouthful!) were a little more challenging, but recording different people talking and then turning up the pitch works well. (And is also really funny, good thing they were all such good sports.) I had a great time making these sound effects, and I learnt a lot of stuff about using equipment, for example the professional microphone and recorder machine.. thingy. I hope my sounds suit the Krulius well. The order I put them are A: moving B: toxic breath C: digital bio-converter and modem sounds. "
