Blast Thames Festival Film Residency

A group of trainee film-makers aged 16 to 20 undertook production training with ´óÏó´«Ã½ Blast at BFI Southbank to create four original film shorts revealing the hidden stories of the Mayor's Thames Festival.

The film-makers were trained in camera operation and sound, film editing, music composition and narrative skills by ´óÏó´«Ã½ and film industry experts. The trainees learnt their craft during two short weeks before the films went into production.

Each of the four film crews followed the stories of the performers and event teams during the crucial days leading up to the Thames festival. The four films provide a unique glimpse into the incredible Mayor’s Thames Festival weekend which took place on the 11th and 12th of September 2010.

Following the premiere of the films at the BFI Southbank on 30th September 2010, the films can be seen on the Thames Festival websites and right here on the Blast site!
