Title: Honestly, I'm A Cheat
by Craig from Cornwall | in writing, poetry, dark
Honesty is the best policy
unless your opinion is wrong,
my words roll from my tongue
apologetically tying a fine knot around my neck
as my cold winter breath slaps me in the face
like a woman giving birth.
So what if I was tempted by the foreign bounce of skirt
have you never found yourself falling
for the speckles of dandruff in a strangers unkept hair
or the atmospheric tension
that should only end in a kiss
or being cut with a knife?
What is the point in a conversation
when I could paint you a perfect white lie
falling gracefully into your arms:
This is a Kodak moment.
It's not like we're living a falsehood
we're living the simple life; In black and white
(My heart was never yours).
