Title: Fate
by Samuel from Suffolk | in writing, poetry, love
His eyes fixated on the window pane
In hiding, is his endless pain
Holding
Tightly
That solemn stare,
At the crimson sofa that was so bare.
Hands faintly stroke the velvet frame
Longing for the memories to return again
A crash
A scream
A deafening roar
So quickly, so swiftly, fate won the race
And gone is she without a trace.
Forgive, if you will, the car that killed
The frail girl, who meant no ill
For now the man lives quite alone
The only pebble on the beach.
Yet it remains, the perpetuity of love
He feels it in his bones
A warmth like the sun on his face
It once was his home;this place
Kindred hearts destined only to care
To please, to love, to hold and to share
But one heart is trapped in a desolate lair
And alas, he exists in eternal despair.
This is a poem I happened to write one Sunday. There wasn't really any inspiration behind this, I just wanted to try something new. I was staring out the window at the time, which gave me my first line, and I just carried on from there. (No real life story behind this)
