Q: What are your favourite websites?

The ones I use most for work are , and the ´óÏó´«Ã½. For leisure, I like looking around the website. As a general rule, I like websites that are easy to use and navigate and use headings, which all of these do.

Q: what is your least favourite website?

I’m not a big fan of . A lot of the information seems to be in images that don’t have proper text alternatives. It strikes me as being quite sightist. is also frustrating, as the navigation has been changed and it isn’t as easy to use as it once was. The website is difficult to use as well. I’m going there this year, but because of the website navigation and poor site search, I couldn’t find details of any of the shows on while I’m visiting.

Q: What was the last thing you bought online?

I think it was something electronic from Maplins. I do like to browse online, because it so much easier to do it that way, but I still prefer to buy from the shops when I can.

Q: If the web was taken away from me today I would…

Save £30 a month on broadband rental, for a start. But I’d probably feel a bit cut off and isolated. Thinking about it this way just makes you realise how much I depend on the web for work and leisure. On the upside, I’d probably have more time to read.

Q: What's the most adventurous thing you've done on the web recently?

A while back, I found the website of a recorder maker in Germany. He had some audio files of his recorders on the site that I liked. I dropped him an email, arranged a visit and bought myself a recorder.

Q: What's your favourite blog?

I don’t read a lot of blogs. A lot of them are like listening to people whinging, and if I want to do that I can just go to the pub. Then at least I can have a pint at the same time. Of the ones I do read, they have to be funny. I like , which has some really funny examples of announcements from train drivers. I also like a , which covers the search for the ultimate biscuit to have with your cuppa.

Q: Have you ever heard of Joost?

No, but I quite like the idea of video on demand. I did register with , but found that I wasn’t really using it. I prefer to have a physical CD rather than to just download tracks. I do, however, like to download books from .

Q: Do you have a favourite gadget?

It is a bit random, but I bought an electronic fly swatter from gizmoandwidget.com.
