What kind of web user are you?

Yesterday, covered a report by business and technology consultants , who have carried out research into how we use the web, and have defined five distinct user groups.

At one end of the spectrum are ‘media explorers’, or grumpy old men reluctantly taking up the new media challenge. At the other, are the ‘social uploaders’, the hip young things who are blogging, networking and who feel naked without their mobile phone.

Here at the Access 2.0 shed, we often corner people and discuss the importance of digital technology for people with disabilities. We can be found speculating that because technology can make such a big difference in someone’s life, disabled people are more adventurous than your average Joe Bloggs.

Is someone with autism more likely to try the latest social networking website than others? Is someone who is visually impaired more likely to get the latest GPS gadget than the next bloke?

We reckon that most readers of this blog will feel closer to the social uploaders group than the media explorers. Tell us if we’re right.

Make yourself a cuppa, and take a look. It’s the perfect geeky thing for a Friday afternoon.
