Interest Specific Feed

I myself find that the bbc news website has a mass of information and stories available - but this is a common theme where we are being overloaded with information.

I do not know about other people, but I tend to just read the news in a few specific narrow areas - but sifting through what interests me and what I find is irrelevant is time consuming.

RSS feeds achieve this to a degree - but would it be better if you could actually 'simplify' the front end of bbc news, so that is only showed you what you marked down as your interests (have your preferences saved in a cookie perhaps) - basically to offer a bbc news that is more tailored to each person.

Of course you would allow the user some way to see all the news if so desired - but generally as ground breaking or exciting as sport can be - i rarely visit this area, it might as well not exist for me. That is what this idea is about - removing what an individual doesn't want in the attempt to reduce the information overload.
