Cuba: Yoani Sánchez

Paul Coletti Paul Coletti | 10:38 UK time, Monday, 8 March 2010

Cuban blogger Yoani Sánchez aims to bring you snapshots of real life inside Cuba. On February 23rd she spoke to Reina Luisa Tamayo Rangel the , a Cuban dissident who died the same day in a Cuban prison following a hunger strike:

My son has been tortured throughout the days he has been in prison. They had him 18 days in Camagüey with no drinking water. My son died after 86 days of hunger strike. I, with deep pain, ask the world to demand the freedom of the other prisoners, brothers jailed with no justice, so that what happened to my son doesn't happen again.

Blogworld managed to get hold of her on the line to Cuba. We asked her why she blogs?
