A Partridge Family In A Pear Tree

Bryan Burnett | 17:20 UK time, Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Tonight's theme is the 12 days of Christmas - which will be a bit rubbish if it's a busy show and I only manage to get 11 songs in!

We've had some good ones in for maids milking and drummers drumming, but we are struggling for swans, lords and pipers. At the moment it's a toss up between Mull of Kintyre and Amazing Grace, so if you have a piping suggestion then get it in before the end of the show.

I thought '3 french hens' might prove to be a bit of a challenge but Adam from Rio has come up with the brilliant post on the blog "The third day of Christmas is easy -Young Paris hens by Adam and the Ants." more like that please.

In case you need your memory jogged, here's a list of the 12 days and their relevant gifts...
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
