Katherine and The Three Degrees...
Not many men want a girlfriend who is taller, faster and fitter than them. Well according to Katherine Grainger, the Olympic rower who was Edi Stark's guest on Stark Talk this week.
In the interview she reveals why she ended up in floods of tears after only winning a silver and gives Edi a sort of scoop when she reveals whether or not she'll compete in 2012.
I've just finished listening to it on listen again and it's a terrific interview. Grainger is passionate, driven, clever, talented, and (as Edi reminds us) "absolutely gorgeous".
As well as competing at the very highest level of her sport she's currently studying for her third degree - this one a !
It seems my blog is full of inspirational women this week ... and I don't just mean Katherine Grainger. Edi Stark was an important influence on my career and in fact was the boss who persuaded me to give up my day job and pursue a career in radio. I still think she's one of the most talented broadcasters we have. Have a listen to this interview and see why.

Quite good to put in all those years of training and dedication only for someone to wonder about your toilet habits when rowing!
